Content Credentials from your tools
A signed record of how your image was made, carried inside the file. Export it right and it follows your work into every commission you deliver here.
What they prove, and what they do not
Content Credentials are the C2PA standard for a signed record inside an image: which app made it, what edits it went through, and, if you add them, your name and linked accounts. A reader can confirm the record has not been altered since it was signed, and who signed it.
They do not prove a human drew the piece. A record says what the signing app saw, nothing more. And a file without them proves nothing either, since screenshots and most social uploads strip them from human and AI images alike.
What Nexus does with yours
Commission deliveries. We check your file's credentials and carry them inside the signed credit on the file your patron receives. A reader shows our record on top, with yours as the source it came from. Credentials from a signer outside the C2PA trust list still ride along, marked untrusted.
Your Studio. The original you upload is stored exactly as you sent it, credentials included, and only you can open it. Public copies and Licensed Generation starting images are rebuilt from pixels and carry none of your metadata.
Embedded, not cloud-only. We read credentials attached to the file. We do not fetch ones stored only in a cloud, so choose the option that attaches them.
Photoshop
Choose Window > Content Credentials (Beta), then Enable Content Credentials. To record every edit from the first stroke, turn it on for new documents under Settings > History & Content Credentials.
To export, use File > Export > Export As and pick JPG or PNG, the only formats that carry them. In the Content Credentials section, choose Attach to file. Publish to Content Credentials cloud keeps them off the file, where we cannot see them.
Fresco
Tap Share > Export image, turn on Content Credentials, and export a JPG or PNG. Fresco attaches them to the file. It can also add a Created without generative AI label when every layer qualifies, and link your social accounts.
Procreate, Clip Studio Paint, Krita, and the rest
As of September 2026 we found no Content Credentials export in Procreate, Clip Studio Paint, Krita, Affinity, GIMP, or Aseprite. You can still add them after you finish.
Export your final PNG or JPEG, then open Adobe Content Authenticity, a free beta that needs an Adobe account. Choose Apply, select your file, apply, and download the signed copy. That copy is the one to deliver.
It records you and your preferences, not your brush history, since the painting happened in another app. It also adds an invisible watermark and keeps a fingerprint in Adobe's cloud. You can set a request that AI models not train on the work there, but only models that choose to honor it do.
What strips them
Screenshots, re-saving in an app without support, image optimizers and converters, and most social platforms all drop them. Make the credentials step your last one, and deliver that exported file itself rather than a copy of it.
Check before you send
Drop your export on contentcredentials.org/verify. If it shows your app and your edits, you are set.
After a delivery clears, choose Open private file in the Commission Room and check that copy too. You should see Narrative Nexus as the signer and your export as the file it came from. The steps for sending are in Delivering a commission.
