Campaign tools for AI-skeptical DMs

If AI in your tools makes you wary, good — this page is for you. Narrative Nexus is a campaign companion that happens to use AI in narrow places; it is not an AI product you have to opt out of piece by piece to trust.

Free tools that need no AI at all

AI can be off, and the product still works

A campaign-level master switch turns AI off entirely; separate switches cover text generation, image generation, and voice transcription if you'd rather keep some and drop others. Whatever's off is rejected in the backend, at the point where a request would otherwise go out — not just hidden in the interface. Compendium, maps, campaign management, and live play keep working the whole time. The full set of commitments — training, data handling, provenance on AI-generated art — is on the AI page.

What happens to your data if you cancel

Delete your account any time from Settings → Account, and your account plus its personal data are removed in one operation. A campaign you own that other people are still playing transfers to a remaining member so your table keeps its game; anything you owned solo is deleted. Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups until those rotate out in the normal course. Full detail — server logs, payment records, transcription text — is on the privacy policy.

Frequently asked questions

What campaign tools work if I want AI kept away from my game?
The dice roller, DM screen, character sheet, compendium, maps, and full campaign management all work with zero AI calls. A campaign-level master switch turns AI off entirely, plus separate switches for text generation, image generation, and voice transcription if you only want some of it off.
Does turning AI off actually stop the calls, or just hide the button?
It stops the calls. The switch is enforced in the backend at the capability layer, not just in the UI — whatever category is off is rejected before any request reaches a model provider.
Do you train AI models on my campaign?
No, never. We do not train models on your campaign, compendium content, or anything else we hold; our providers process API requests under terms that prohibit training on that traffic. The one carve-out is BYOK: that traffic runs under your own agreement with your provider, not ours.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
You can delete your account any time from Settings → Account. Your account and personal data are deleted in one operation; campaigns you own that other people are still in transfer to a remaining member so your table keeps its game, and characters you created stay with that game as non-player characters — anything you owned solo is deleted. Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups until they rotate out. Full detail is on the privacy policy.
