Complete overview of untrained and trained skill actions organized by proficiency requirement, covering all 16 skills and their key activities.
Skill actions are specific activities you can attempt using your skills. Some require a minimum proficiency rank; others are available to anyone.
Untrained Skill Actions (anyone can attempt):
- Recall Knowledge: Remember facts (Arcana, Crafting, Lore, Medicine, Nature, Occultism, Religion, Society)
- Perform: Entertain an audience (Performance)
- Gather Information: Canvass for info (Diplomacy)
- Make an Impression: Improve NPC attitude (Diplomacy)
- Lie: Convince of a falsehood (Deception)
- Create a Diversion: Distract to Hide (Deception)
- Demoralize: Frighten a foe, 1 action (Intimidation)
- Coerce: Threaten compliance (Intimidation)
- Balance / Tumble Through / Squeeze: Agility tasks (Acrobatics)
- Climb / Swim / High Jump / Long Jump: Physical feats (Athletics)
- Hide / Sneak / Conceal an Object: Stealth activities (Stealth)
- Sense Direction / Subsist: Wilderness basics (Survival)
- Palm an Object / Steal: Sleight of hand (Thievery)
Trained Skill Actions (require Trained proficiency):
- Treat Wounds: Heal 2d8+ HP over 10 min, DC 15+ (Medicine)
- Administer First Aid: Stabilize dying creature, 2 actions (Medicine)
- Treat Disease / Treat Poison: Aid saving throws (Medicine)
- Identify Magic: Determine spell or item properties (Arcana/Nature/Occultism/Religion)
- Learn a Spell: Copy a spell to your spellbook (tradition skill)
- Decipher Writing: Decode texts (Arcana/Occultism/Religion/Society)
- Disable a Device / Pick a Lock: Bypass mechanical obstacles (Thievery)
- Impersonate: Disguise as another person (Deception)
- Feint: Make target off-guard, 1 action in melee (Deception)
- Craft: Create items with formulas and materials (Crafting)
- Grapple / Shove / Trip / Disarm: Combat maneuvers (Athletics)

- Command an Animal: Direct a non-hostile animal (Nature)
