Intimidation
Charisma-based skill for influencing others through threats, menace, and fear.
Intimidation covers influencing others through displays of threat, fear, or hostile force. It is governed by Charisma.
When to roll: The DM calls for an Intimidation check when a character uses menace to influence another creature.
Common uses:
- Threatening a creature to extract information
- Warning off would-be attackers
- Coercing compliance through displays of strength or violence
- Cowing a crowd or silencing opposition
Social interaction: Intimidation produces compliance through fear, not goodwill. Creatures intimidated into cooperation may act against you later.
