From an operative assassin with ancient sawtooth sabers to a mystic healer wielding a magical staff, many Starfinder characters would love to get their hands (or alien appendages) on ancient Pathfinder gear. Whether you're introducing them to your campaign as standard tools of the trade, artifacts from before the Gap, or specialty tools favored by hobby enthusiasts, these guidelines can help you decide the best way to handle using Pathfinder equipment in your Starfinder game. Usability Guideline The rules here, like those elsewhere in this chapter, are guidelines for how to mix elements of both Pathfinder and Starfinder together. Exactly how this type of equipment works between game systems is up to the GM or is detailed in specific products that broach this topic. The rules herein should be considered optional rules. These rules aren't enabled by default for a campaign unless the GM and players are all in agreement. In effect, timeshifted equipment should generally be considered uncommon options.
