You can't hear. You automatically critically fail sound-based Perception checks. Spells with the Auditory trait automatically fail when you cast them. You also take a −2 circumstance penalty to initiative rolls.

Deafened doesn't prevent you from speaking, but if both you and the target are in environments where speech matters mechanically, the GM may impose additional penalties.
