Condition — Quickened

Quickened: gain 1 extra action per turn, restricted to specific uses. Does not stack. Cancels partially with Slowed. Haste is one of PF2e's strongest buffs.

You gain an extra action each turn, but it can only be used for specific purposes.

Mechanical Effects:

  • You gain 1 extra action at the start of each turn
  • The extra action can only be used as specified by the source (e.g., "Quickened, and can only use the extra action to Stride" or "Quickened, and can only use the extra action to Strike")
  • You still have your normal 3 actions plus this bonus action

How Applied:

  • Haste spell (extra action for Stride, Strike, Step, or Interact)
  • Some class features and feats
  • Certain magic items

How Removed:

  • Duration expiry
  • Effect ends (spell dispelled, item removed)

Important Notes:

  • Quickened does NOT stack — if you are Quickened by two sources, you only get 1 extra action (use the most permissive source's restrictions)
  • The extra action's restriction is part of the condition — you can't use a Haste action to Cast a Spell
  • Quickened is one of the strongest buffs in PF2e — an extra action per turn is extremely valuable

Interaction with Slowed: If you are both Quickened and Slowed, they cancel out partially. Quickened 1 + Slowed 1 = net 3 actions (normal). Quickened 1 + Slowed 2 = net 2 actions.

Tactical Impact: Haste is one of the most impactful buff spells because an extra Stride or Strike per turn is enormous. A Fighter with Haste can Strike three times (at increasing MAP) or Strike twice and Stride for repositioning.
