The Fae
Beautiful, capricious powers of the Wood whose favor is indistinguishable from a curse.

- The Green LordsVassal
Their oldest ties trace back to the Green Lords, who bred and cultivated wondrous beings of the Great Wood.
- The Forest FolkNeutral
The Forest Folk treated them as dangerous Good Neighbors and Hidden Ones.
Wondrous, dangerous beings out of legend who dwell in The Great Wood and Ferrier's Fen.
The Forest Folk called them Good Neighbors and Hidden Ones, warned Stonetop not to insult them, and knew better than to treat them like ordinary neighbors. The Green Lords bred the Fae to herd spirits, manage estates, build waystones, and weave idyllic afterlives. Some Fae resented servitude, found loopholes in oaths, and built webs of debt that became rebellion. After the siege of Vor Svetelik, many were no longer bound by old purpose; factions formed, armies disbanded, and the Fae became the fractured people they are now.
How they behave
Neither mortal nor spirit. They breathe magic, treat time strangely, feel promises and insults as heavy obligations, and often value etiquette more than mercy.
