This band of megacities called the Ring of Nations is governed by an elected Grand Assembly; meanwhile, frontier outposts and bandit camps struggle to survive outside city borders. Regarded by many as the technological hub of The Pact Worlds, the tidally locked world of Verces has a long and storied history in space travel. Verthani aetherships were the first to risk the void between planets, accomplishing a miraculous deed only previously achieved through magic. Today, Verces and its Ring of Nations are an industrial and corporate powerhouse within the Pact System and Near Space, while the regions of Fullbright and Darkside are wastelands best left to foolhardy adventurers and brave explorers, or the bandits and outlaws that roam them.
