One of the biggest risks of time travel is being exposed as a time traveler. Even seemingly mundane and widespread information from the distant future can be invaluable to those who'd take advantage of it. Knowing this and keeping your identity secret is the first step to making sure the information stays out of the wrong hands, but the following plot elements can help secure the future of your setting, unless of course you want that to be an element of your campaign. The Gap can serve as a plot device that supernaturally alters or censors sensitive information. Gods or fate itself might intervene after you return to your timeline, so the only changes are details so minor even the history books stay the same. Time travel might have thrust you into a completely new reality that doesn't impact your home timeline. People might just not believe you're from the future.
