Performance

Charisma-based skill for entertaining audiences through music, acting, dance, and oration; powers Bard composition abilities.

Performance (Charisma)

Performance covers entertaining others through artistic expression: music, acting, dance, oratory, and other performing arts.

Untrained actions:

  • Perform: Entertain an audience. The quality of your performance determines the reaction — failure is a poor showing, critical success earns applause, recognition, or rewards.
  • Earn Income: Work as a performer between adventures to earn coin based on your proficiency rank.

Types of Performance:

  • Acting: Roleplay, impersonation, theatrical performance
  • Comedy: Stand-up, physical comedy, wit
  • Dance: Physical and expressive movement
  • Keyboards, Percussion, Strings, Winds: Musical instruments
  • Oration: Public speaking, storytelling, singing

Bards and Performance: Bards use Performance to power some class abilities, including Inspire Courage and other Composition cantrips. The quality of their Performance check affects how well they can focus.

Critical Success: A masterful performance that earns you fame, extra pay, or significant social advantages.
