Deception

Charisma-based skill for lying, feinting in combat, disguising yourself, and creating diversions to hide.

Deception (Charisma)

Deception allows you to mislead others through lies, misdirection, disguise, and feinting in combat.

Untrained actions:

  • Create a Diversion: Distract nearby creatures so you can Hide. This is a single action. On success, you are unobserved by the distracted creatures until the end of your turn.
  • Lie: Convince someone of something false. Opposed by their Perception (passive). Critical success means they believe you completely; critical failure means they know you're lying.

Trained actions:

  • Impersonate: Disguise yourself as a specific individual or general type of person. Requires a Disguise Kit for physical disguise. Opposed by Perception.
  • Feint: In melee combat, fake out your opponent so they become off-guard to your melee attacks until the end of your next turn. Must be adjacent to target.

Critical Failure on Feint: The target is not off-guard and you become off-guard to that creature's melee attacks until the end of your next turn.
