Condition — Stunned (PF2e)

Stunned (value): lose actions equal to value, value decreases as actions are lost (self-resolving). No reactions. More severe but shorter than Slowed. Stunned 3 = lose entire turn.

You are dazed or incapacitated, losing actions. Stunned can have a value or be a flat duration.

Mechanical Effects:

  • You lose actions equal to your Stunned value at the start of your turn
  • As you lose actions, the Stunned value decreases by the same amount (unlike Slowed, which persists)
  • Example: Stunned 3 means you lose all 3 actions this turn, then Stunned becomes 0 and is gone
  • Stunned 1 means you lose 1 action, then it's gone
  • You can't use reactions while Stunned

How Applied:

  • Critical hits with certain weapons
  • Some spells (like color spray)
  • Power Word Stun
  • Monster abilities (medusa's gaze, etc.)

How Removed:

  • Stunned reduces automatically as you lose actions — it's self-resolving
  • Stunned 2 lasts effectively one turn (you lose 2 of 3 actions, Stunned drops to 0)
  • Stunned 4+ can span multiple turns (lose 3 actions turn 1, Stunned becomes 1, lose 1 action turn 2, gone)
  • Stunned is acute (goes away as actions are lost) — Slowed is ongoing (persists each turn)
  • Stunned also prevents reactions — Slowed does not
  • Both reduce available actions, but Stunned is more severe per-turn and shorter duration

Interaction with Slowed: If you have both, Stunned actions are lost first, then Slowed actions. Stunned 2 + Slowed 1 = lose 3 actions (all of them). Stunned drops to 0, Slowed remains for next turn.
