Hide armor is made from thick furs and pelts, crude but effective.

Don/doff time: 5 minutes to don, 1 minute to doff.
Assessment: Hide is the cheapest medium armor but offers the worst AC in its category. At max DEX bonus (+2), it provides AC 14. A character with DEX 14+ should upgrade to a chain shirt or breastplate as soon as possible. Hide's main advantage is availability — in wilderness campaigns, hides can be obtained from hunted animals.
