Key 1st-Level Features:

• Spellcasting: Intelligence-based full caster. Wizards maintain a spellbook and prepare a number of spells each day equal to Intelligence modifier + Wizard level. Wizards can copy new spells into their spellbook from scrolls and other spellbooks.
• Arcane Recovery (level 1): Once per day after a short rest, recover expended spell slots with total levels equal to half your Wizard level (rounded up, maximum slot level 5).

Subclass (Arcane Tradition): Chosen at level 2.
