A cluster of longhouses pledged to a chief's banner and a chief's demands.

A Manmarch hamlet is a cluster of longhouses for families and livestock, plus sheds, cellars, and surrounding worked land. It usually holds twenty-five to seventy-five souls and is bound by oath or blood to a nearby hillfort and chief.
Resources vary by place: pigs, goats, sheep, wheat, barley, oats, honey, mead, timber, trapping, amber, salt, or iron. Defenses are modest but shaped by a warrior culture.
When to use this template
Manmarcher kin drama: raids, vengeance, burnt halls, desperate survivors, local elders, and chiefs whose protection always comes with obligation.
