Sajra's Shrine

A sacred spring-place slowly curdling under the will of a claiming beast.

Originally a Green Lord shrine to a Danu-figure, tended by the spring's spirit. Sajra the Swyn has claimed it as a den — and its presence is starting to corrupt the place.

A rectangular spring-fed pool dominates the room: a foot deep, glowing gently (the glow fades the moment water leaves the pool). A channel set in the floor carries the water west through the central chamber. An altar dominates the east wall, but the icons have been replaced by items from Sajra's hoard.

Inhabitants

  • Wynfor & Tiwlipsmall, entranced, docile. HP 3. Damage: bronze knife d4 (hand). Instinct: to bask in Sajra's presence. Ill-fitting silks. Asleep or staring into the pool. They ignore the PCs unless someone tries to take them or touch the hoard — then they stab.
  • Spirit of the springsolitary, spirit, anxious. Instinct: to fuss over everything. Mile-a-minute whisper, asks questions and won't wait for replies, hates Sajra but frets over its opinion. Easily upset, then insults herself.
  • A pile of furs in the northeast corner is the kids' bed. A fine chipped ceramic urn is their chamber pot; crinwin empty it.

Sajra's hoard

Sajra's Hoard — finely worked goods on the altar and shelves lining the walls. Immobile-volume; beautiful; Value 4 total. The PCs promised Thornthumb they wouldn't steal anything.

When is Sajra here?

Sajra is unlikely to be in the tomb when the PCs arrive. Roll the Die of Fate on first approach:

  • 1-3: in the shrine, alert
  • 4-5: not in the tomb, off hunting. Returns in 1d6 hours, or 30-60 minutes after the crinwin start wolf-howling
  • 6: in the shrine, asleep digesting a big meal — sluggish, slow to react
