Caineach Tricklebank
Forty years of patience, all of it aimed at the Ferriers.
He has been waiting for the Ferriers to slip for forty years. Caineach Tricklebank is the cagey old head of the Tricklebanks — one of Marshedge's Old Family heads — and a slow, watchful resentment runs under every civility he offers Ianthe in chambers.
Appearance: An old man with a long, bony face and the unhurried stillness of someone who expects to outlast everyone in the room. His white hair is sparse, his ears large, his hands folded on a walking stick he does not quite need yet. He watches Council members with the patience of someone keeping score.
Instinct: To sieze any opportunity
