He stands beside Brennan in the Council chamber, and the math of the room shifts when he does. Muiris Hawtrey is the Hawtrey patriarch — one of Marshedge's Old Family heads — and the alliance with Marshedge's marshal is the lever that holds the High Town consensus together.
Appearance: A solidly built man in his fifties, clean-shaved and careful in dress, with the deliberate quiet of someone who has learned that silence holds more weight than volume. His hands are folded easily; his gaze, when it lands, is steady and doesn't hurry to leave.
