Waystones

Ancient markers left by the Green Lords, still legible to the Fae and half-understood by everyone else.

The Fae still know how to read them. Waystones — massive markers of pale gray stone, moss-covered and worn smooth — dot the Great Wood and Ferrier's Fen, leftovers from the Green Lords that mortals understand only partially.

They are nodes in strange travel and bargain logic. They can open paths, distort routes, lead to Fae domains, or demand conditions that look whimsical until the cost is paid.

Hooks

Use waystones for magical travel, Fae negotiations, lost paths, bargains with odd requirements, shortcuts that are not safe, and the realization that geography is less stable than villagers assume.
