The Foothills
Wooded ridges that carry the cold breath of the Whitefangs down to Stonetop's door.
Cold enough to remind you what's waiting farther north, close enough that Stonetop knows them. The Foothills rise north and west of Stonetop toward the Whitefang Mountains — rugged, wooded, rocky, with The Highway cutting through on the way to Barrier Pass.
They are close enough for Stonetop to know them and far enough to hide beasts, weather, timber, mountain paths, ruins, and travelers from the north.
Hooks
Use the Foothills for trips that feel possible but costly: timber, hunting, mountain weather, paths to Barrier Pass, predators, rockfalls, and the first signs that the north is not just farther away but harsher.
