On a rare dry spot in Ferrier's Fen, besieged by foulness, an ancient arch still improbably stands. Lichen and moss grow thick across its stones, yet the keystone remains clear, engraved with a sigil that makes the eyes water and drives evil away. To learn it you must purify yourself in clean water, calm your mind until the sigil reveals itself, and practice the mark for days. Each time you place it thereafter, some part of you—eyes, hair, skin, tongue—pales toward a shocking white, the toll of a ward against beings of darkness, chaos, and death.
To unlock it
- purify yourself in fresh, clean water.
- calm your mind, gaze upon the sigil, and roll +WIS: on a 10+, the sigil becomes clear; on a 7-9, the sigil will become clear after a few more days in contemplation; on a 6-, the sigil is beyond your ability to learn.
- spend a few days memorizing and practicing the sigil.
