Stamina and Hit Points

Three pools — Stamina Points (quick-recover endurance), [[compendium:rule:Hit Points]] (serious wounds), and Resolve Points (narrative fuel).

Starfinder 2e uses a dual-pool vitality system:

Stamina Points (SP): Your endurance in combat. Recover fully with 10 minutes of rest. Damage depletes SP first. Most characters have SP equal to their class SP value + Constitution modifier per level.

Hit Points (HP): Represents serious wounds. Depleted only once SP reaches 0. Recovery requires magical healing or an 8-hour rest. Reaching 0 HP leaves you dying.

Resolve Points (RP): A narrative resource tied to your key ability modifier. Spend RP to stabilize when dying, push through exhaustion, or fuel certain class abilities. You recover RP with a full night's rest.

This three-pool design makes short-rest recovery fast while keeping serious wounds meaningful.
