These strange, majestic predators drift lazily through the upper atmospheres of gas giants in schools—or dart through the murky, cloudy depths at terrifying speeds. Members Cloud Ray (Creature 13), Cloud Skate (Creature 6) Explosive Anatomy Cloud ray digestion generates vast quantities of lighter-than-air gases and fluids, which are stored in specialized organs, creating a lifting effect that aids these creatures in flight. When threatened or hunting, a cloud ray can eject large-volume blasts of these stored gases, launching themselves through the air at tremendous speeds as if propelled by a rocket.
