Your custom rig lets you temporarily upgrade any piece of gear on the fly.

When you Modify (Manipulate, Mechanic), you must be holding or wearing your custom rig. You Interact to draw, retrieve, or swap an item, then add one mod to it. The mod lasts until the start of your next turn, until you use Modify again, or until the item is destroyed or used by someone else.

Basic mods available to all mechanics:

  • Big Boom (grenade or area weapon): Increase the radius by 5 feet (burst), area by 5 feet (cone), or area by 10 feet (line).
  • Bunker Buster (grenade or weapon): The item bypasses 5 Hardness, or Hardness equal to 5 + its razing value if it has the razing trait.
  • Incapacitant (grenade or weapon): The item gains the nonlethal trait.
  • Magnetic Levitators (armor): Your base land Speed gains hover.
  • Long-Range Propulsors (grenade or ranged weapon): Increase range by 10 feet (grenade) or range increment by 30 feet (ranged weapon).
  • Troubleshoot (item, drone, or turret exocortex): Reduce the item's glitching condition by 1.
