Unlike armor, weapons, and shields enhanced with runes, specific armor, weapons, and shields (such as moonlit chain, a bloodletting kukri, or a lion's shield) are created for a specific purpose and can work quite differently from other items of their type. These items can’t gain property runes, but you can add or improve their fundamental runes.
