Automatic:
While a creature is marked by Hunter's Mark, you learn whether it has Immunities, Resistances, or Vulnerabilities and what they are. Search fit: Hunter's Mark synergy, revealing enemy defenses, damage type matching.
Choose between Colossus Slayer (1d8 extra damage per turn when hitting a creature below full HP) or Horde Breaker (bonus attack against a different creature within 5 feet of your original target per turn). Swap between options on short or long rest. Search fit: single-target burst damage, melee multi-attack, closing damaged foes.

Hunter (Ranger)

Hunters confront great beasts and monstrous threats with a variety of tactical options.

Chosen at: Level 3

Level 3 — Hunter's Prey: Choose one of:

  • Colossus Slayer: Once per turn, deal 1d8 extra damage to a creature below its hit point maximum.
  • Giant Killer: When a Large or larger creature within 5 feet hits or misses you with an attack, use your reaction to attack it.
  • Horde Breaker: Once per turn, make one additional weapon attack against a second creature within 5 feet of the first target.

Level 7 — Defensive Tactics: Choose one of: Escape the Horde (opportunity attacks against you are made at disadvantage), Multiattack Defense (+4 AC after the first hit in a round), or Steel Will (advantage on saves against being frightened).

Level 11 — Multiattack: Choose Volley (ranged attack against all within a 10-foot radius) or Whirlwind Attack (melee attack against all within 5 feet).

Level 15 — Superior Hunter's Defense: Choose Evasion, Stand Against the Tide, or Uncanny Dodge.
