Vahid
The man who knows what the fragment means — and can't stop until he does.
Hand Vahid a half-buried fragment and he forgets to come home. Stonetop's bookish know-it-all has thin, ink-stained fingers, a bone flute he plays when thinking, and eyes that go distant the moment a puzzle snags him.
His lore about the Makers, the Fae, and Things Below is genuine; his judgment about when to deploy it is not always sound. He appears in the rulebook's running examples and currently needs a break from the widow Maire, who's been cramping his "confirmed bachelor" style.
Appearance: Thin and bookish with ink-stained fingers. Plays a bone flute when thinking. Eyes that go distant when a puzzle snags his attention.
Instinct: To understand things that probably shouldn't be understood
Moves
- Recall an obscure piece of lore about the Makers, the Fae, or Things Below
- Ask exactly the wrong question at exactly the wrong moment
- Offer help that comes with strings attached to his curiosity
GM notes
The village's resident know-it-all. His knowledge is genuine but his judgment about when to deploy it is not always sound.
