Smiling Ffransis
The Boss who controls the water and the ale, and keeps smiling long after the joke has turned.
He smiles even when he shouldn't, and the smile is what people remember. Smiling Ffransis is one of Gordin's Delve's Bosses, controlling water and booze — the two things miners cannot dig without.
Like the other Bosses, he runs on patronage and pressure, and the constant implication of who eats next.
Appearance: A man of middle years with a ruddy face and the permanent crinkle of someone who smiles by default. His clothes are a little too fine for the company he keeps, his teeth a little too visible. The smile is there even when he is thinking, even when nothing is funny.
