Two running threads: his health is worse, and the palisade is coming together. Macsen is the villager the source uses as a texture cue — health on one side, the village's defenses on the other.
Use him to say how Macsen's health has worsened, or how the palisade is coming together — a quick texture move when the village needs to feel lived-in.
Appearance: A middle-aged man, thicker through the chest than he used to be, with the ruddy complexion of someone who works outdoors and a rattling cough he tries to keep quiet. His hands are roughened and there is a permanent squint from years of working in bright light or wind.
