Gorlas

Dead before the adventure begins, mourned in the shape of what killed him.

Poor old Gorlas is dead — known now mostly through what he left behind. Betrys finds his body just past the Stream: desiccated, skin slack, hand reaching towards home, every plant within five paces dead and brown and brittle.

His instinct is to be more present in death than he ever was in life. He functions as a mystery and a trigger for village panic; his death is the hard move example in the Homefront rules.

Moves

  • Surface as a subject of gossip at an inconvenient moment
  • Turn out to have had a connection to someone the PCs care about
  • Leave behind something — an obligation, a secret, an object — that the living must deal with

Appearance: Known now mostly through what he left behind: his body found desiccated past the Stream, hand reaching towards home, every plant within five paces dead and brown and brittle.

Instinct: To be more present in death than he ever was in life
