Young enough to chase glory, wise enough to dread what it smells like up close.
His hands will smell worse by evening, and he already knows it. Caradoc — apprentice tanner, impetuous youth, Would-be Hero — is young and earnest, with the resigned expression of someone who has done this exact math many times.
His instinct is to get through today and hope tomorrow is better. He appears throughout the rulebook's running examples as illustrative play material and serves as an excellent window into village youth culture, the kind who gets entangled in things larger than himself.
