The voices come softly at first — jealousy, longing, fear — until you cannot tell them from your own thoughts.

Where the influence of the Things Below is strong, people hear voices, see things that aren't there, and are seized by powerful emotions. Every move here should show the themes and instinct of the Thing Below behind it all. The whispers can lure, keep victims from sleep, stir jealousy or despair, and push toward specific acts. When the whispers compel you, mark XP if you obey — and they can now compel you again. Resisting calls for a roll +WIS: on a 10+ you hold; on a 7-9 you must pick a costly partial-control option; on a 6- you either do something drastic to break free or run with it and come to later, having done gods-know-what.
