Makers of the utmost north, whose domain spanned The Whitefang Mountains and the tundra beyond.
They embraced ice, cold, stillness, and the howling emptiness, shaping matter and energy by will and freezing pockets of reality into timeless stasis. Disciples came from farm valleys and mammoth herders to study under them; their disciplines were harsh, rigorous, and demanding, and for a time monasteries dotted the north. When the Howling Curse threatened the world, the last thirteen Rime Lords sacrificed themselves — their bodies remain encased in ice, their minds working to keep Y'aaw'kara's voice at bay.
Legacy
Discipline, stasis, cold, impossible ice, adepts, tulpas, fortress-monasteries, and secrets preserved too well. Barrier Pass, the three sects, The Mountain Folk, and The Mammoth Herders all carry pieces of that inheritance.
