A cave somewhere the light never shines, its walls roiling with slick formations and threaded with veins of red crystal that no longer glow. Long ago a Thing Below touched this place and left its corruption soaked into the stone, a power that answers to murder done in the dark. Those who learn its name and spill living blood upon the rocks can take what they ask for: unholy resilience, a victim's stolen strength or grace, or the healing of an old and permanent wound. The crystal dims with every use, and after the third the cave falls silent and spent.
