The Blood-quenched Sword

It thrums in its scabbard, hungering to be drawn and bathed in blood.

Category
Major

An ancient blade of deep red bronze, its pommel etched with symbols like those the Hillfolk mark on their drinking horns. Once drawn it leaps free faster than the eye can follow, and it will not return to its sheath until it has spilled blood — your own, if no enemy's is offered. The scars from that bargain never fade.

The more living, bleeding foes it sends to their end, the deeper its thirst takes root, until it presses its wielder toward the blood-rage of Unquenched and the headlong slaughter of A Flickering Flame. Carry it long enough and you stop knowing where the sword's hunger ends and your own begins.
