An oversized, lavishly decorated gold butter lamp, the kind the northern folk fill with mammoth-butter for their rituals. The gold alone is a small fortune, but the lamp's true worth lies hidden beneath the gilding.

Lit with the right magic butter and the proper mantra, it sheds a pale, heatless glow that lays the unseen bare: lurking spirits, illusions and glamours, shapechangers in their borrowed skins, anything concealed, even lies hanging in the air as black smoke. The recipe and mantra come from the Rime Lords' disciples, and the light is a beacon to every hungry wraith within reach.
