Demonhide Cloak
Ugly, useful, and steeped in demons — every patch a hide flayed from something dark.
- Category
- Major
A tattered patchwork of unfamiliar hides that smells by turns of damp earth, ozone, musk, sulfur, rust, and rot. It is ugly, useful, and steeped in demons — proof against their attacks even when they pierce armor, and a help to the wearer who moves unseen through the dark. Those you slip past may later recall only a strange smell.
Flay, tan, and sew fresh demon-hide into it and the cloak begins to remember: through The Flesh Remembers it surrenders visions of how each kind of demon was undone. Wear it too long and it asks for more — the Unholy Visage that lets you wear a demon's shape, and the voices of the dead things stitched into its seams.

Properties
A tattered patchwork cloak of unfamiliar hides smells by turns of damp earth, ozone, musk, sulfur, rust, and rot. It is ugly, useful, and steeped in demons. The cloak gives 1 armor against demons even when their attacks pierce or ignore armor. With the hood up, you see clearly in darkness. Wrapped tightly around you, it lets you pass unnoticed while you move calmly, carefully, and out of harsh light, though those you pass may later remember a strange smell. Flay, tan, and sew demon-hide into it to unlock the Flesh Remembers: search the cloak’s memories for a demon’s kind and receive a vision of how it was defeated. Further consequences can awaken Unholy Visage, letting you take on demonic form, language, defenses, and movement at the cost of Guise and consequences.
