A big old chunk of stone, maybe five feet across, sunk in mud and algae. Beneath the grime, barely visible, run Maker-runes for earth, spirits, and rejuvenation. The tablet holds a ritual of convocation: spill your blood on the soil, speak the words, and the spirits of the earth stir and wake, flooding the fallow fields with life and energy for the coming harvest. The old spirits are generous — but they remember the taste of blood, and what wakes in the soil does not always go back to sleep.
