One round before impact, antigrav rotors, parachutes, and retrorockets slow the descent to 60 feet per round, allowing for a safe landing (even if uncontrolled). Enclosed The pilot and passengers of a drop pod are completely enclosed and don't have line of sight or line of effect with any creatures or objects outside the vehicle.
