Lost Golarion

The solar system now called the Pact Worlds has been inhabited for millennia, dating back long before the Gap to the beginnings of recorded history. While all the planets in the system are significant, none present as fascinating a mystery as Golarion, the world that vanished without a trace. Golarion is the presumed birthplace of humans, ysoki, dwarves, goblins, halflings, hobgoblins, orcs, and numerous other ancestries still found in the Pact Worlds today. Despite this, Golarion was most notable not for its varied civilizations and peoples, but for its theological significance: Golarion's core served as the prison for a long-forgotten god of destruction named Rovagug . Doubly blessed and cursed, Golarion was also home to a miraculous artifact called the Starstone, which enabled worthy mortals to achieve divinity by passing the stone's tests. This stone birthed multiple deities, including Iomedae , who's still worshipped by many humans and ritually honored by members of the Knights of Golarion in the modern age. It's commonly believed the Starstone at the heart of Absalom Station is the very same Starstone that was once located on Lost Golarion, though no one has used the modern Starstone to ascend to divinity since the Gap, leaving fertile ground for conspiracy theories to take root. At some point during the Gap, Golarion disappeared, and Absalom Station appeared in its place. Scientific inquiry, magical divinations, and religious communion have revealed only a single fact: the planet Golarion still exists, as do the descendants of those people on Golarion when it vanished, safe in seclusion unreachable by magic or science. Beyond this kernel of truth—or perhaps misinformation—no further information is forthcoming. At least, not yet… For more information on the planet of Lost Golarion and its ancient past, see Pathfinder, and especially Pathfinder Lost Omens .
