You can use Diplomacy to Make an Impression without a shared language with your target. When you do, Make an Impression loses the auditory and linguistic traits, and you can attempt the Diplomacy check with a –2 circumstance penalty. When you do share at least one language with your target, you instead gain a +1 circumstance bonus to Make an Impression.
