Nyssholora
Apex predators on Castrovel featuring twin rows of razor-sharp teeth, scythe-shaped phasic blade forearms vibrating at ultrasonic speeds, electricity-absorbing tail, and a tentacle...
Incredibly ferocious, nyssholoras are dinosaur-like creatures that number among the most dangerous and feared apex predators on the planet of Castrovel. These walking weapons brandish lethal biology: a massive maw lined with twin rows of razor-sharp teeth, scythe-shaped phasic blade forearms that vibrate at ultrasonic speeds, and a scourge-like tail capable of absorbing electricity from the surrounding atmosphere. Yet, nyssholoras are also cunning and perceptive—a frill of tentacles that crowns their head detect telepathic signals, making it impossible for the local formians and lashuntas to escape their notice. Their phasic blades can cut through walls and vehicles as easily as underbrush, ensuring prey have nowhere safe to hide. Members Juvenile Nyssholora (Creature 4), Nyssholora (Creature 11), Ulgaazan Nyssholora (Creature 17) Life Stages Nyssholoras nest and lay broods of two to six eggs that both parents protect during gestation. Hatchlings learn to hunt from their parents for the first month, then depart, grouping together with other juvenile nyssholoras for the first year of life. By the time these nyssholoras reach full size, the brood disbands, with their once-shared territory going to the fiercest of the brood, while the others roam independently until they find a territory of their own to dominate. Monsters of Myth Nyssholoras are frequently showcased in the myths and legends of the formians and lashuntas of Castrovel. Among formians, historical accounts of He Who Shatters Colonies and the Earthrender are recited somberly, while among lashuntas, the entertainment industry sensationalizes nyssholoras, with vidcasts and vidgames celebrating the defeat of Loakal Scourge of Asana, the rampage of Casanai, and, of course, countless interpretations of the legendary Ulgaaza the Ageless—each more outlandish than the last.
