Elindrian
Ancient spacefaring people of Castrovel who vanished into subterranean husk-hives eons ago, now resurfacing as diverse castes including acolytes (CR 2), celebrants (CR 4), and quee...
The people known as elindrians vanished eons ago into desolate husk-hives beneath the surface of the planet Castrovel. Until recently, they were creatures of legend, existing only in the most obscure formian histories. Now, scholars on Castrovel desperately search for additional records about elindrians, their origins, and—most importantly—the truth about their connection to the terrifying ooze-like creature that recently descended from their moon, Elindrae. One theory is that elindrians share some primal bond with the ooze-thing called the Terror of Ukulam, and perhaps both originate from Elindrae—other theories claim that elindrians created the ooze in the first place or that they’re distant cousins to formians, corrupted by the Terror long ago. Members Elindrian Acolyte (Creature 2), Elindrian Celebrant (Creature 4), Elindrian Queen (Creature 18) Elindrian Space Travel Following the destructive emergence of the Terror of Ukulam from beneath Elindrae's surface, work crews set about looking for clues as to the creature's origins. While the area remains highly radioactive and filled with horrible oozes and other threats, a few explorers have survived long enough to make a disturbing discovery: strange, long-abandoned starships lie buried near the ooze's former resting place. Other Elindrians These elindrians are but a few types who have emerged from Castrovel thus far. Others include masses of tiny drone workers who rapidly converge on a dig site, excavate their fellows under the command of an elindrian acolyte, then perish in a disturbing feeding ritual; invisible shock troopers who fly deep into enemy territory, their wings emitting horrible screaming sounds as they spread poisonous gas; and plodding builders who devour as much organic matter as they can find, growing to immense sizes and later disgorging chitinous building materials to assemble lairs for their queens.
