Affects objects only. An object is broken when its Hit Points drop to or below its Broken Threshold. Broken items can't be used normally and don't grant their usual bonuses.

Exception — broken armor: still grants its item bonus to AC, but also imposes a status penalty (−1 light, −2 medium, −3 heavy). All other restrictions (Dex cap, check penalty) still apply. If an effect makes an item broken automatically, it also reduces current HP to the Broken Threshold.
