Atakebune
Full iron plating turns this gargantuan vessel into a floating fortress for coastal raids, at the cost of stability under sail.
An atakebune is a gargantuan vessel clad entirely in iron — a floating fortress more than a true warship, used for coastal actions and river blockades. Its full iron plating and sheer bulk make sails useless, so it moves by oar. Many are beautifully gilded with red and gold inlays across the iron, added weight that only worsens their already suspect stability.
