Apparatus of the Octopus
A single pilot commands this enchanted, octopus-shaped hull alone, with room for a second hand to work its grasping arms.
This apparatus is shaped like an octopus — or, more rarely, a squid or some other sea creature — and moves almost entirely by magic. Clockwork makes up its controls and refines some of its workings, but enchantment turns its cogs and gears. It needs only a pilot, though it can hold a second hand who works the apparatus's grasping arms or its eyes.
The pilot runs it (Driving Lore DC 28, or Crafting DC 30) and it carries one passenger, who can optionally crew the arms or eyes — though no extra crew is required. The hull is 10 feet long, 10 feet wide and 5 feet high, hardness 15. Price 4,000 gp.
