Slime Mold
A mound of earth and fungus hides a symbiotic predator, its pseudopod lashing out at anyone careless enough to brush against the rot.
A slime mold appears as a mound of earth and detritus covered in a thick layer of fungus that exudes a faint stink of decay. The fungus shares a symbiotic relationship with the slime mold, serving as an external digestive system while gaining access to the nutrients it needs. Unwary travelers who brush against the mound find a pseudopod lashing out to drag them into its rot.
