An animated priest effigy hides a brittle construct beneath a lacquered shell, and cracking that shell makes it far easier to bring down.
A painted pontifex is an animated effigy of a priest, its lacquered shell hiding the brittle construct beneath. Crack that shell and the figure beneath is far easier to bring down.
In play
- Construct Armor Like normal objects, a painted pontifex has Hardness. This Hardness reduces any damage it takes by an amount equal to the Hardness. Once a painted pontifex is reduced to less than half its Hit Points, or immediately upon being damaged by a critical hit, its construct armor breaks, removing the Hardness and reducing its Armor Class to 24.
