Odvolos
Scrolls and spellbooks are the real target — its smoldering aura sets carried texts alight and chokes the air with drifting ash.
An odvolos is a fiend born of censorship and burned knowledge, wreathed in smoldering parchment and the ash of texts it has destroyed. It stalks libraries and scholars alike, snuffing out the written word wherever it finds it.
In play
It has a +1 status bonus to all saves vs. magic, and a –1 status penalty to all saves vs. emotion effects.
Shroud of Burning Pages (aura, fire) 15 feet. The odvolos is surrounded by an aura of burning paper and scorched parchment, which provides concealment as if it was smoke. A creature within the aura takes a –2 circumstance penalty to Perception checks, and a creature that ends its turn in the aura must succeed at a DC 22 Reflex save or any items with written information held or carried by the creature takes 1d4 persistent fire damage.
